Temperature Control

The HVAC control panel is on the wall between the 2 front bedrooms on the home (the center room.) That thermostat controls the heat and cooling in the breakfast room, kitchen, living room, center room and bathrooms.

The bedrooms, while most have vents, are heated and cooled by the wall mounted split units. The floor vents in the bedrooms have been closed – please use the wall split system for heating and cooling by using the wall remote.

The electric fireplace in the living room can be set to output heat. The remote is laying on top of the fireplace. If you use it, please make sure it is turned off when done using it.

There is a small wall heater to use in the cold season in the exterior sunroom. It is not meant to heat up that whole room – it should give you some heat with glass door closed when sitting on the couch. You will need to use the remote to turn that on and off. That remote is on the wall to the left of the door into the sunroom. Please remember to turn everything off when done.

Troubleshooting

System not working/“– –“ showing on split system display

If the split air conditioners come on and then turn off again, it is usually due to the mode on the systems being set differently. ALL the systems in the home (including the air handler thermostat in the hallway) will either have to be in heat or cool mode, even if some are set to off. So, if you turn on a system to COOL and it doesn’t turn off or just displays “- -“ on the front of the unit, one or more of the other units are set to heat(or vice versa.) You will have to go to the other rooms and check that they are all set to COOL (or hot) on the remotes (and the one wall control.) This is usually only an issue in fall/spring when the temperature varies and units are going back and forth between being used for heat and cool.
