Sharktooth Hunting

Our Beach
You can find sharkteeth on our beach. Especially after a storm when the sand has been churned and
moved around. Generally, they are on the smaller side.

Calvert Cliffs State Park
This park is a bit of a walk to get to the beach and probably only worth it unless you also feel like doing a hike. The beach is pretty small – you can find larger shark teeth on this beach.
Flag Ponds Nature Park
Great beach for finding shark teeth. 15 minute walk from the parking lot. There is also a nature center here.

Calvert Marine Museum and Drum Point Lighthouse
They usually have a sandbox where the children can find real fossil shark teeth. Also, learn about the cliffs and fossils that make the area unique. Also, a small aquarium and otters. Great for small kids and adults alike on a rainy day.
